The church is decked out in Gallo-Catholic design, from neo-Gothic spires to anguished scenes of crucifixion and martyrdom painted inside. The church is about 200 feet tall and it can be seen from the radius of about 8 kms around in Trichy. The exterior of the church is still not repainted, as administrators wish to preserve that same antiquity that stands for years. The glass panels depict stories from the Bible that are truly beautiful.

More than 100 years old, Lourdes Church, is a popular sightseeing location and is often visited by tourists, locals of all faiths and people from diverse walks of life. This venue is best visited in time with the famous ‘Feast of Our Lady of Lourdes’, which is an annual event, held on 11th February. Here, you are likely to find a Virgin Mary's statue garlanded with flowers.
