Kaziranga National Park
Short Overview:
Kaziranga National Park is located in parts of Golaghat, Nagaon and Sonitpur districts of Assam The criteria and values made the Kaziranga National Park to have included in World Heritage Site List of 1985. Kaziranga is the title of the remarkable success story for the conservation of One Horned Rhinoceros in India as well as other wild lives of North East India. It is homeland of One Horned Rhinoceros, and offers shelter to different wild lives. It is amongst the significant natural home for the conservation of biological biodiversity for universal value.
Long Overview:
Situated in Nagaon and Golaghat districts of Assam on the southern bank of the Brahmaputra. Kaziranga National Park has area of 429.93 Sq. km. having added area of 429.40 Sq.Km. Kaziranga National Park is the home of the one horned rhino. Apart from the rhino it also hosts the Royal bengal tiger and elephants and deers.It also boasts of a large population of bison and buffaloes. During get winter it is also the temporary home of quite a number of migratory birds. Tall elephant grass gives the animals plenty of natural cover. Hence they are best suited for viewing by elephant safaris aparticularly in the morning a beautiful experience! The nature at its best. Well maintained and the elephant ride is a must. You won't be disappointed as some or the other animal will be spotted definitely.
