Short Overview:

This maidam is dedicated to Lekai Chetia, an officer of the Ahom Kingdom, during the term of Swargadeo Pratapsingha. Located in the Sessa area, near Mankata road of the Dibrugarh district, the maidam has now become a revered spot in Assam.

Long Overview:

The Lekai Chetia Maidam is located near the Mankota road at Sessa and is presently known as ‘Thaan’, which means a religious institution. This big maidam has a site towards its north, which is known as ‘Lekai.’ It is dedicated to Lekai Chetia, which is the name of an officer of the Ahom kingdom under Swragodeo Pratapsingha. Lekai Chettia maidama a stall or religious center, which is dedicated to one of the Ahom officer lekai Chettia a religious center. Lekai Chettia, svargadeva Pratapsinhaji were working under.
